Quality Improvement

IEO provides the methods, instruments and expertise necessary to ensure the achievement of both departmental and school-wide quality control and improvement.
If we are to ensure quality education, we must engage in a continuous process of evaluation and improvement. Such a process requires a standardized, systematic approach and an inclusive system that involves a root-cause analysis of data collected through reliable methods.

In the field of education, the concept of continuous quality improvement is still in its early stages. IEO provides the methods, instruments and expertise necessary for both departmental and school-wide quality control and improvement. The process involves the acquisition of data through various instruments and from all stakeholders in the education process. IEO can also tailor the process to meet the needs of specific institutions.


Special Education

We provide policies and procedures to ensure that opportunities are created for all.
Any effort to improve the quality of education must involve meeting the needs of students with learning difficulties. Although much discussed, special education remains at best out of reach for the majority of students in developing countries.

When it comes to the education of children with special needs, we assist schools by:

  • Streamlining the referral process
  • Providing policies and procedures
  • Guiding communication with parents when cultural sensitivities result in obstacles
  • Training teachers and other professionals
Case Study
IEO has aided a private school in the Middle East to develop and implement a special education program. The percentage of students identified with learning difficulties increased from 1% in 2007 to 3% in 2010. This was primarily due to the identification of undiagnosed students and to the establishment of the school within its community as a referral institution for children with learning difficulties.

Preparing for accreditation is in essence a collaborative venture. It offers the school and its staff a tremendous opportunity to work together in identifying strengths and areas for improvement. While strengths are highlighted and stretched, areas for improvement call for special attention.

In assisting schools seeking accreditation, we:
  • Conduct an initial needs assessment
  • Support in accreditation application submission
  • Design the school-wide self-study
  • Design data collection tools, methods and procedures
  • Conduct data analysis
  • Develop improvement plans and design strategies for expanding and reinforcing strengths
  • Support in generating and submitting the accreditation self-evaluation report
  • Help prepare for a full-scale accreditation team visit
Case Study
IEO has assisted schools in the Middle East in preparing for and successfully obtaining accreditation by internationally recognized institutions, such as CITA, NWAC, IBO and others.
